It was good to see Chris Christie turn down the offer of the No Labels group (a group intent on putting forward a 3rd party candidate) to have him as their presidential choice. Christie is sticking to his guns. In his statement of refusal, he spoke of Trump’s inciting anger and divisiveness among Americans and added that he would not assist in any effort that could help Trump win the election. Terrific. The problem is I think he’s one of only a few Republicans.
It would also be nice to see Nikki Haley come out against Trump, instead of just not endorsing him. But so far, she’s not done so. My hope is that she will surprise us but reality seems more like she’ll just fold and give Trump an endorsement in the end.
On the other hand, Mitt Romney, Republican Senator from Utah, has said he will not vote for Trump. Lisa Murkowski, Republican Senator from Alaska, has come out against, also.
But it’s not enough.
To think that a dysfunctional person such as Trump could be reelected president is very scary and it should make us very angry.
Every single day, Trump is out there on the front pages of newspapers or other media. Never mind that the news is about his not coming up with the bond amount the judge required, or that one of his trials is being postponed or the Supreme Court might or might not do this or that. The point is that his name is out there more so than Biden’s. And there are plenty of people in this…
