He likes to make threats. Thrives on it.
He enjoys retaliation, also, stripping former government officials of security protections, for instance. The easy targets most of all.
Now he’s pressing on with the absurdity of taking over Gaza, wanting neighbor nations to bow to him and accept Palestinian refugees.
‘All hell will break loose’ if this or that doesn’t happen, he’s fond of saying.
And he will impose tariffs whenever his mood dictates.
But who doesn’t he threaten?
Vladimir Putin. The most abusive leader of our century.
Trump talks about peace through strength but is careful not to threaten the Russian.
However, aggression against neighbors and friends is just fine and makes him feel strong.
Meanwhile, the most significant political event since World War II, the war between Ukraine and Russia, rages on.
Trump has surrounded himself with people who don’t seem able to stand up to him and question his judgment.
The shadow that Putin’s aggression has cast over the entire world has reached our President and the man doesn’t get it.
Trump’s threats to friends should be seen as efforts to emulate Putin.
He would like to be like the Russian, which is much safer than to oppose him.
Thus the talk of taking over Greenland, of taking over the Panama Canal, of taking over Gaza.
In his mind, Trump thinks those actions will impress Putin.
They won’t.
Our productivity and efforts to share with others have been key…
