Trump Must Confront His Fear of Putin

After WWII the US came up with the Marshall plan, an economic investment program to promote the development of European economies savaged by the conflict.
It was a resounding success and we benefitted greatly also.
Times have changed, though, and drastically.
Ukraine has been ravaged by a war started by Putin’s massive aggression yet we’re not thinking large.
Under Trump, we prefer to think small. And grotesquely so.
Not only has the leader of Ukraine been demeaned publicly, as when he met with Trump and Vance in the Oval office, but the current administration is proposing that Ukraine enter into a financial agreement that would give us very favorable terms in the exploitation of their natural resources.
In other words, they have to pay up for the support we’ve given them.
That is quite a contrast with the Marshall Plan.
But Trump is a short sighted man.
Like he said to Taiwan a while ago, ‘You have to pay us to defend you.’
It’s the bully in him. The same bully who speaks shamelessly of annexing Canada and acquiring Greenland ‘one way or the other.’
Trump also said that Taiwan’s chip manufacturing capabilities had been stolen from us.
Not so.
Capable and far thinking Taiwanese businesspeople, developed the needed expertise and took the necessary risks.
But back to Ukraine.
Trump seems bent on selling out Ukraine but doing so is selling out America, too.
To squeeze Ukraine when they’re down and…
