The War Goes On and We Still Wait for Trump
Our president was going to stop the war in 24 hours.
He told us again and again.
He knew Putin, he added, and got along well with him.
And so the Russian would make concessions.
But we’re still waiting.
In a few more days it will be three months since Trump ascended to the presidency.
Meanwhile, the missiles keep flying into Ukraine and killing more and more people.
I’m sure that in Putin’s view, there are no innocent Ukrainians.
No innocent children, no innocent mothers.
They are all guilty of resisting his wishes.
So they all must pay. The ongoing cruelty is justified, because they dared choose to be a free nation.
Pretty sad, isn’t it?
Putin will never have to appear in a court of law, never have to answer for his crimes.
The Russian State will protect him.
We’ve known that he does not have a moral conscience yet his actions go beyond that.
He enjoys the killing.
When he appears in public, he seems well rested and well fed.
He smiles to the crowd.
In his impoverished mind, he has worked things out that he can justify everything.
I remember Biden calling Putin ‘a killer, worse than Hitler’.
Biden had the moral outrage in him, though he took too long to provide Ukrainians with enough guns to push Putin back.
Trump, though, shows little indignation in the face of the ongoing massacre.
Now and then, he’ll say ‘Oh, there are so many people dying.’
