A little while ago I got a text asking who I would vote for if the choice in November was Harris vs Trump.
I replied Harris, and wondered whether the movement to put her on top of the ticket was gaining momentum.
And why shouldn’t it?
Last night I saw a clip of Biden’s latest address to the nation, appealing for restraint in our political language, following Trump’s assassination attempt.
Biden was composed and on target. And yet, I’m firm in my belief that he should make way for a younger candidate.
The Republicans are starting their convention today in Milwaukee. Trump will anoint his running mate. Who will that be?
I’m betting it will be Senator Rubio from Florida, which complicates the dynamics for democrats.
One other top choice Trump was considering, Senator JD Vance, eliminated himself when he stated, right after the assassination attempt, that the shooting was the fault of democrats for all their talk against Trump. That was before news emerged that the shooter was a registered Republican.
The choice of Rubio complicates the dynamics because there are a lot of Latinos/Hispanics who are still undecided (unbelievable at this stage of the game) and will feel a burst of pride that one of their kind is considered worthy of being part of a presidential ticket. Never mind that such ticket is headed by Trump who has also said that on day one, he will start massive deportations of an estimated 12 million immigrants in this country — a…
