I love you,
Because the hatred of you that I’ve stirred,
Has made the majority of Americans adore me.
I love you,
Because you have made things so much simpler,
And I can blame you for everything that is wrong with our country and the world.
I love you,
Because without you I would not have been elected to this
Glorious second term, when I will have a chance to leave
A lasting impression.
Today, Americans are tempted to kneel before me.
It hasn’t happened yet but it will,
Such is their devotion to me.
In Europe, you, my dearest illegal immigrant, have transformed their politics
And boosted their Far Right political movements.
Yes, those movements that want to put you in a boat back to your country,
With not quite enough fuel to make it,
So your boats will likely run out of gas and then you’d drift in the ocean,
Until the sea tosses you overboard and God help you.
Still I love you,
Because your sacrifice is helping the better people of this world
Realize to not take anything for granted,
To not accept the evils of democracy that force the gifted and accomplished
To give to the less gifted more than they deserve.
I love you,
Because, deep down, you know your destiny is to be extinct.
You have come into being to remind us of how beautiful we are,
And how we should not share it with you.
God chose its people. And it wasn’t you, dearest illegal immigrant.
And yet I love you,
Because…
