The Birth and Demise of Trumpocracy

The assault on Capitol Hill on January 6th 2021, will be marked as the birth of Trumpocracy.
Seeking to overturn the electoral ballots from the 2020 election, you incited your followers to march on that sacred institution of democracy.
The nation owes much to Mike Pence, then your vicepresident, for refusing your request to alter the results.
It was a signal moment for our political history.
And you have got away with it.
Most Americans were shocked by the event, but a good portion thought it was so cool that you did it.
You left the White House, conceding to Biden, but remained convinced that you held a winning set of cards. And you played them right.
Four years later you are back in. And Trumpocracy is in full swing.
Sadly, your movement is not about democracy.
That is a painful realization. Trumpocracy is about autocracy, instead, with you thirsting for more and more power.
There are some developments that make very evident your true colors.
Take your choosing to not fund Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia.
These organizations work to spread the importance of democracy and freedom to peoples everywhere.
It is hard to understand why an American president would want to restrict people’s knowledge and, I’m sure, some of your supporters are scratching their heads wondering why you did so.
It is very scary, Mr President.
