Russia’s Violations of Eastern Europe’s Airspace
Either with fighter jets or drones, the incursions into Eastern European airspace are increasing.
They are a deliberate attempt by Putin to test Western resolve.
And so far, they are getting away with it.
They are happening because Putin has assessed Trump’s character and determined he is weak.
At home, and with countries weaker than America, Trump is a tiger. A roaring lion.
He thumps his chest and growls loudly every day. ‘I am King!’
But with Putin he chooses to be meek.
He doesn’t have to. He is backed by plenty of strength and fire power. But he can’t bring himself to stand up to the Russian.
And it makes for a sad spectacle for the world.
The other day he said that NATO should shoot down the trespassing planes.
But he’s also said that he’s not willing to step in and back NATO all the way.
He has not said he is willing to fight for a free Europe.
He has argued that NATO nations still buy Russian oil, which is cheap, and that by doing so enable Putin to continue the war.
He is right. Europeans need to do more. That they haven’t is a black mark on this generation of Europeans. Not the next.
The Free world is about more than current day Europe.
A resolution of the war in Ukraine with terms favorable to Russia would be a disaster, further emboldening Putin.
America needs to take the long view and stop Russia.
Russian incursions into Eastern Europe’s nations must be stopped…
