Putin speaks.
‘I will win the war because the West has no guts to challenge me.
Because I will keep firing missile after missile from behind my borders and killing Ukrainians at will, 10 today, 30 tomorrow, 50 the next day, its entirely up to me, to keep destroying their infrastructure while the West worries about escalating the war if they dare do this or that.
Do we give fighter jets to Ukraine? asks the West. No, those aircraft might end up going into Russian territory and then hurt Putin and he will be upset with us and fire his nuclear weapons. And we will be helpless, because his fury will make us shake so much that we will fall to our knees and beg forgiveness.
The West say to themselves, look at all we’ve built, we can’t risk it just because of Ukraine. They say, yes, Ukrainians are courageous, then quickly add they have to set limits. They conveniently forget they could end this war quickly if they stood up to me and said, Putin, stop firing missiles from behind your territory or we will arm Ukrainians so they can fire onto your land. The West could say, you want to fire missiles into unoccupied Ukraine, then fire them from inside the land you’ve seized illegally, and then Ukrainians will hit you back. Let’s make this a fair fight. But no, the West keeps Ukrainians handcuffed. Yes, you, in the West are doing so.
And so I can keep destroying what I want when I want.
