The Senator from California.
She’s 89, had the shingles which became encephalitis but she’s recovered from the ordeal.
Too bad she hadn’t been vaccinated which would have likely prevented it.
She’s now back in Capitol Hill, still recovering but able to handle many of her duties.
We’re told that she relies heavily on staff to perform her work. That would be fine if it weren’t for the additional talk that she’s been told what to say and how to vote.
If that’s the case then she needs to go.
But is it the case?
The matter should be clarified. I have no idea what the procedure would be but surely there is one for cases just like this where the person’s competency is being called into question.
Feinstein has been a good senator for California. There are people her age very active in life and thinking clearly while others struggle. Blame it on our genetic makeup.
If her fellow senators are not up to the task of stepping up and assessing Feinstein’s capacities, then California Governor Newsom should do so.
It is not a sign of disrespect to Feinstein to put her through a battery of tests by specialists in the mental health field. It is a sign of respect for the residents of California and the nation as a whole.
It could well be that Feinstein’s brain is more than sufficient to continue to handle her responsibilities. But maybe not.
