The war in Ukraine won’t end unless we take some bold steps.
And if we don’t it will drag on and deplete our morale and standing in the world.
It’s been more than two years since it started. And now Russia is regaining the initiative because of our inaction.
Yes, Europe needs to do more, but they didn’t see the Russian threat coming and now must play catch up.
Until they do so, we have to step up. There’s no way out for us.
We can still hope that Putin will be neutralized by the Russian people. Still hope that some brave Russians will take the necessary risks to get the job done.
I think it folly to believe that this war will end without Putin being neutralized.
In the meantime, we need to fully arm Ukraine. We have not done that. We’ve been afraid of Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons.
Ukrainians have shown enormous courage but they’re not superhuman.
They need the best weaponry the West can provide.
We have not done that.
Putin does not speak for Russia. He speaks for an enslaved Russia.
I firmly believe that Russians want to be more in life than servants to Putin.
Firmly believe that all human beings want to have the option of speaking freely about what they want and don’t want.
That spirit lives in Russia but is being trampled by the tyrant that Putin is.
