The majority of you voted for Trump and now you’re seeing the consequences.
We’re heading for a recession. The markets are all pointing in that direction. And it will be a Trump made recession.
Our economy was recovering from a slowdown and coming along nicely and then Trump comes in and pushes the idea of tariffs as the great cure.
The majority of economists — people who study the complexities of trade — believe that Trump is widely off mark and that we will pay the consequences.
But we’re choosing to ignore their views because Trump is oh so charming and oh so entertaining and he keeps us on the edge of our seats at all times.
‘Put up with a little discomfort right now (he calls recession a discomfort) and it will all be beautiful afterwards,’ he tells us.
But there will be real suffering and you will have no one to blame but yourself.
A growing sense of unease is already being felt and it is reason for grave concern.
When did we last see the mass exodus of federal workers in various agencies, pressured by Musk and company?
Where did Elon Musk, Trump’s job cutter in chief, learn about the subtleties of managing complex public agencies?
A nation cannot be run like a company. It is vastly more intricate than that.
Somehow, though, Musk persuaded Trump that if he can lead a team to build a car, or lead a team to build a rocket, he can make agencies designed to alleviate people’s suffering work like machines also.
