Dear America. Sad to See You Go
For the last 100 years you have been a beacon to the world. But now you’re choosing to look inward and to isolate.
We knew that sooner or later it would happen. Throughout the course of history, no power has ever remained dominant. They all have their sunrise and their sunset.
Your sunset is now beginning.
The world owes you much. You fought bravely in both world wars during the last century, then stood up as a fountain of inspiration for the rest of us and your strength led to the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the unification of Europe.
We thank you for the glorious effort, your commitment to the cause of man and the affirmation of liberty.
It has been a great 100 years.
But your time as leader of mankind is coming to an end.
We understand that you’re tired and wish to retreat.
China went through a period in their history when they chose to build walls instead of interacting with the world. They suffered dearly as a result.
Perhaps you should consult your scholars on the subject to see if you can still change course.
But your inward movement seems very strong and may not be stopped.
Don’t worry, the rest of the world will find its way.
We will not succumb.
Man’s desire to move forward is too strong to be held back by one nation or people.
You have fostered great developments in the sciences and technology and we thank you for them, but we can assure you that the rest of us have the ability to make up…
