But Will Biden Pardon Trump?

Trump was indicted and will next have to appear in court in December unless the date is postponed. The date for the trial will be set at that time.
Meanwhile he’ll be running his campaign to become the Republican Presidential candidate.
I don’t think he’s going to get the nomination. Not because of the indictments but because of his record. A substantial number of Republicans are tired of the Trump Show.
It’s over.
The field is wide open and DeSantis is not a sure bet. Others have plenty of room to jump in.
My take is that Trump will be found guilty on some of the charges which won’t keep him from running for President but will further damage his tarnished image.
Against that backdrop a presidential pardon makes sense.
It would spare us the expense and spectacle of having Trump being imprisoned if that is part of the sentence.
And it would help the Democrats’ cause.
What Trump is being charged with is of little import compared to Watergate, when Nixon ordered the breaking into a Democratic campaign office in 1972.
Furthermore, a pardon will help in healing the rift between Republicans and Democrats.
But how would such an act be perceived by the different groups?
The fervent Trump followers may be inclined to see the pardon as an acknowledgment of their power, that if it were not granted they would tear the country apart.
The less fanatical are likely to see it as was it is, an act of generosity on the part of Mr…
