I’ve gone back and forth on this matter. Now a report by a special counsel who interviewed the president on the handling of classified documents and then stated that Mr Biden’s memory is faulty, puts the issue back in the limelight.
The last president to have had memory problems was Reagan. But that was at the end of his second term, Mikhail Gorbachev was Russia’s president and China was not the power it is now.
Biden is at the end of his first term, the country is rife with political antagonism, we have had to help Europe defend one of its neighbors against a Russian invasion and the likely Republican opponent next November is Pro Russian and the most dysfunctional candidate the nation has seen in a century.
Sensible and informed people are lining up on both sides of the memory issue. Biden’s memory is okay — he mixes things up at times — says one side, while the opposing one reminds us that advancing age will likely worsen the problem.
The special counsel in question was a Trump nominee, which may have biased the assessment.
