Biden. In Denial and Now Grandiose

A friend of mine sent me a clip of the recent ABC interview of President Biden.
The host asked all the pertinent questions about his performance in the debate (6.27.24).
Biden was adamant. He’s fine. He will remain the candidate. He just had an off night.
If his showing was poor, it was the nagging cold he was having.
We should look at his record, all that he’s done.
Yes, thank you, Mr President.
And Donald Trump lies. Yep. We know that.
‘Will you submit to a cognitive test?’ the host asked Biden. ‘Why?’ replied the president,
‘I take a cognitive test every day with all the problem solving I do.’
But the public is concerned that you, being 81 now, will not be able to perform effectively at 82–83–84 and 85, which covers the span of your next term should you be reelected.
Biden’s answer — ‘Of course I will. I got this.’
So, no — age does not affect him. He’s immune to it. It just passes him by.
To the interviewer’s credit, he was gentle on Biden. So thank you for that.
Our president is a good man.
Then came the question, ‘Have you watched the tapes of the debate?’
Biden paused briefly, then, ‘I don’t think I have.’
Oops.
Not good.
Not looking at the evidence is not a good sign. It tells us that he wants to avoid the pain of seeing himself underperforming, to put it mildly.
But feel the pain he must, and let it inform the only rational choice before him.
Give up his folly and release his delegates so they…
